2014 Policy Briefs

1. Nail Salon Workers' Rights

This visually accessible multilingual poster will educate nail salon workers about health and safety and labor policies so that they can better advocate for their rights in the workplace.

2. Demystifying the Affordable Care Act
Community Service Society

The Affordable Care Act, which will go into effect in 2014, will mean big changes for how New Yorkers pay for and access healthcare. This poster will use multiple languages to explain how the new health insurance system will work, and will help those who most need it to enroll in coverage.

3. Understanding Child Support Proceedings In Family Court
Resilience Advocacy Project

This poster will break down the Family Court process for young fathers and help them to understand the rights they have and what concrete steps they should take at each point in the process.

4. Accessing Public Assistance
Urban Justice Center Safety Net Project

Public Assistance is a critical resource for New Yorkers living in poverty. This poster will visually break down the system through which public assistance is administered, empowering recipients to maximize their benefits and provide for their families’ basic needs.
